Dear Parents,
It's been a pleasure reconnecting with you during our conference week. Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me and allowing me to share all the wonderful ups and downs that our children go through each day. I am very lucky to have your support in helping me mold our children properly. If you didn't get a chance to sign up or would like to meet with me. I am here for you. Please let me know!
I completed the fluency test and I am proud to say that nobody fell in the "concerned zone." The nonfiction passage was harder than the fiction passage. Most students struggled with "fancy" words that are not in your "everyday" language. I will be reviewing on the academic vocabulary with them that we have been learning all year long. We finished Unit 8 Math Test yesterday and are officially in Topic 14 that focuses on Analog Time, Capacity (liters), and Mass. We will have Unit 9 Test toward the end of this month.
I have attached the "GA Milestone Presentation" in case you wanted to know what we talked about the other night. Our exam is currently scheduled for 4/16, 4/17 (ELA: Reading, Grammar, Writing) and 4/18, 4/19 (MATH) split into two days to give our children a break. We are currently reviewing heavily on the concepts that they have learned all year long during this month of March.
Please follow the directions below to access the test. CLICK HERE.
If you click on tutorial, it will show a video to walk your kids through all of the tools.
If you click on "Test practice End of grade" Online Tools Training, it will take you through a sample of what the test will look like. It has sample questions across ELA and math. It only offers one sample test! You can practice as many times as you’d like with that one test though.
We will have our secure practice test coming up on March 20th as a PRACTICE TEST for third grade, you may want to review this link with your child before then.
We will also attend the "Beauty and the Beast" show in the afternoon today.
Please help us raise money for the "American Heart Association" aka "Jump Rope for Heart." Donations and payments is due on Friday, March 23.
Please continue to sign the reading log for the month of March. It is located in your child's home folder. I have asked them to put their "Home Folder" in their backpacks. This is a way for you to see what they are learning in school" and they can practice at home as well.
We have P.E. for specials tomorrow, next Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure they wear appropriate shoes.
Our next field trip is scheduled on May 7th and we are going to Consolidated Mines.
We are in need of new headphones and classroom snacks. A BIG THANKS to those of you who have donated to our classroom! Thank you for your contributions! Your children and I greatly appreciate it!
Thank you to the Watch Dog Dads that have taken the time to come and volunteer! Your presence is greatly appreciated! We welcome anyone else who is interested!
Thank you for making our school a great community and I am proud to be part of it!
Have an awesome week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tsai
