Dear Parents,
I can't believe August is almost over! Here are the updates for this week:
READING: Finding Main Ideas
ELA: NOUNS
WRITING: NARRATIVE (true stories)
MATH: rounding and addition strategies
HISTORY: Map Skills / U.S. Map
SPECIALS THIS WEEK: ART and P.E. (Please remind them to wear their running shoes for tomorrow)
TUESDAY FOLDERS: Newsletter, "MIMAL REVIEW," Interim Notification, Comet Summit, classwork papers
There have been questions in regards to weekly VIP folders. I am going to tell our children to put their blue folders in their backpacks daily. Unfinished classwork will be placed in there for completing their work at home. Every Tuesday, I will ask your children to turn in their folder in the morning so that we could update the folders with fliers and the latest PTA news. This is a easier way for us to communicate as well. You can always put a note in their folder or email, call me if you wish to reach me. Let me know if you have any questions about this. I will always ask them to update their behavior chart for you. I have told them to take the time and reflect on behavior at the end of each day.
We have been completing various subject test in the last few weeks. We are almost done with placement tests. I will be giving your children a F &P (Fontas and Pinnell) test this week and next. I will sent home a parent letter on what your child's new F&P score will be in the Fall.
Please join us at our Comet Summit this Thursday, 8/23 from 6pm to 7:30pm in the "Milky Way" lane. All of us have team up to address the various subject and school information in the different 3rd grade classroom to guide you on what we teach, the books that we use, and what we can do to make your child's school year the best that we can provide for you! I hope to see you there!
Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you!
Sincerely,
MRS. JULIE TSAI, M.Ed.
