Dear Parents,
Welcome to another exciting week at Silver City! As you know, tomorrow will be an epic experience viewing the solar eclipse! To those of you who I will not see tomorrow, please be safe and enjoy every moment of it! To those that I'll be seeing at school, I have designed an exciting lesson centered on the solar eclipse. We will learn what it is all about and the nature of it all! For those of you who didn't get a chance to turn in your solar eclipse form, please remember to inform the school that your child will not be here (it will be an excused absence) or if he/she is an early checkout so that we can ensure your child is safe at all times. For those of you who have turned in a permission slip, you are good to go. Did you know there is a Weebly app that you can download for free on your phone to access information on this website? You can download the app on your iPhone or Android play store. Let me know if you have any questions or need help with this. Thank you so much for donating snacks and more classroom supplies! I really appreciate your support! We received our "U" table last week. I am still generating bookshelves and classroom library books.
This week, we will be studying the solar eclipse, continue narrative writing in our journals, practicing how to multiply using arrays, wrap up on common and proper nouns, geographic regions of GA, and implementing "read to self" and "listen to reading" from our Daily 5 practices. I am very proud of the progress your child is making and willing to take on!
We are currently number 2 behind Discovery Shuttle at this time. I asked my students how badly do you want to win and they are working so hard to demonstrate proper behavior out in the hallways and with one another. I am so honored to be their teacher! Go "ATLANTIS!" Remember if you have not purchased a shuttle t-shirt, there is still time. Please send me an email and let me know what size you would like to purchase for your child. We will have our very first shuttle meeting this Friday!
Thank you for keeping me informed through email. Remember my hours of checking email is before school and during my prep between 11:00 to 11:40 (if I'm not in a meeting), and of course after school.
I will post pictures of them in the last few weeks soon!
Have a WONDERFUL week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tsai
