Dear Parents,
Happy Monday! It was wonderful to see you at Open House last Tuesday! We had an awesome first two days of school last week! We learned how to organize our bins and socialize with each other. We also played Kahoot for math!
Your child may bring their own device from home. They will strictly be in charge of it! We will be doing a lot of projects and presentations using Google and its many applications.
This week, we will begin our academic routines for reading, writing, and math. I will show my kids how to organize their journal.
For math, we will explore number sense this week with place value. Please begin to review or ask them to memorize their multiplication facts, as I will teach them the logic way in class.
For reading, we will be reading "Flat Stanley" and working on a project this Friday. Each of them will receive a letter in regards to the project and they will need to find two friends to send Flat Stanley to! I am super excited for this project and I know your kids will too! Let me know if you have any questions.
For writing this week, we will begin our "Narrative" unit. Kids will brainstorm and come up with a timeline in their life and compose a short essay about their life.
We won't always have worksheets in class, but I will always take picture of what we're doing and share that with you!
I am still in the process of uploading their first few days of school pictures on my Weebly. I will let you know when I am done for your viewing.
I am attaching the "Open House" presentation, please review it and let me know if you have further questions!
Thanks again for your partnership in education! Have a fabulous week!
hugs,
Mrs. Tsai
