Dear Parents,
Happy Monday! Box top contest is now in session! Let's shoot for the top! Bring as much box tops as you can this week and help our class earn a party!
Valentine's Day is just around the corner. We are going to keep this simple. I will provide the food and drinks this time and send out a class list of students. If you don't mind purchasing a pack of Valentines to distribute from your children that would be fun! They can bring a shoe box to decorate at school during their Daily 5 rotation or I can provide a large construction paper for them to make it into an envelope. These are their options.
Book Fair is this week! You're welcome to come in and shop to help raise money to maintain our beautiful media center!
While this is going on this week, tomorrow (Tuesday) is our SCIENCE NIGHT! Book fair will be open from 6pm to 8pm. You are more than welcome to come to both events!
Reading Logs for February. January was a good experiment. I hope to make your lives easier by creating a calendar type of log to inspire both you and your children to sign off their reading time. Please remember that 20 minutes a night is what we're striving for. Reading daily will help boost their self esteem as well as preparing them for the future. Reading is an important skill that we must have to survive in life. We will have a monthly party at the end of February. Your children and I are reaching for 100% reading success.
We will have Unit 7 Test this Wednesday on Multiples of 10 and Solving 2 step word problems. I will distribute the math study guide today and go over the answers with them tomorrow. Let's help them reach for their goal and help them feel confident about school, especially if math is their struggle.
Unit 8 Math Test will be given around the end of February. I will be doubling the lessons in Topic 12 and 13 in the next few weeks to catch up on where we're suppose to be. This chapter will focus on fractions and measurements. Then we will have Unit 9, 10, and 5 left for the remaining year!
We will also launch a new session of learning launch tomorrow. It will focus on low, medium, and high level for Math and Reading as Georgia Milestone is approaching shortly.
Writing competition is due 2/7. I'll send out information in regards to this from Ms. Thomas, our fabulous Media Specialist who will provide additional information in regards to this contest.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions! I'm here for you. Thank you for keeping in touch with me in regards to your child's health.
We had 2 kids out today verses 6 last week. Please take good care of yourself and family! Let me know how I can help
Have an awesome week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tsai
