Dear Parents,
Happy Tuesday! I hope this message finds you well. There are several things that I would like to remind you this week.
First of all, if you haven't RSVP to our Georgia Milestone Information Night that is this Thursday, 3/8 evening from 6pm to 7pm, feel free to send me an email if you plan to attend. I will be there with the other 3rd grade teachers answering any questions you have in regards to our Georgia Milestone Test that is coming up in mid April.
Parent Conferences for Spring are going on this Friday, 3/9. Thank you to those that have worked with me on a private date and time. Remember, I am here for you, also to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. You can also meet with me anytime during the year. I love seeing you and figuring out how we can help our kids continue to be successful in their lives. It will ALSO be a EARLY RELEASE day School will be dismissed around 12:30pm.
Jump Rope for Heart ends on Friday, 3/23. You can register your kids up online and earn various prizes from this fundraiser. There was a flier that was distributed in your child's Tuesday folder last week.
In your child's folder today, there is a "FIRE FIGHTER OF FORSYTH" poster contest. I have include information and an application if you wish to enroll your child.
Beautiful and the Beast play is going on! Let's support Ms. Leaphart, our fabulous music teacher for making this play possible! We will be attending the play during school time on Wednesday, 3/14.
Unit 8 Fraction Math Study Guide will be distributed tomorrow to your children. I will send an answer key and a print out version of the study guide through email. I plan to gave them the test next week. This will be the last unit of math that I grade for quarter 3.
As for reading, we have officially completed the READY book. I will be reusing some reading passages and various other reading passages that focus on the reading strategies and comprehension for 3rd grade to prepare for the Georgia Milestone.
Please remember to ask your child to log into their "it'slearning" page from the school website to access guided practice test for the Georgia Milestone. I have attached a bunch of links to my page for your child to click on.
Lastly, we are preparing for our last field trip of the year. We are going to "Consolidated Gold Mine" on Monday, May 7th. I will pass out the permission slips in next Tuesday Folder. It is due on April 30th. The cost of this trip is $18 per child and adult. I will need 3 Chaprones for this tour. Please understand that I will take the first three parents that did not have the opportunity of attending our last field trip. If you know a better way of picking chaperones for this trip, I am open to ideas. All payments and registrations need to be turned in prior to the trip. We will leave around 9am, lunch at Yahoola Creek Park and then Gold Mine at 11:30am and return to school around 2pm. Light jacket will be needed on this trip, as we explore the deep cave area, it gets cold sometimes. Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tsai
